House Forms
I have been fascinated by the house form since for - as long as I can remember. Here I show some examples of printmaking taken into three-dimensional forms which is another thing that interests me. I began in 2004 with these. The first one was made for an exhibition at Harvard University - where the curators were exploring the relationship between words literature and visual language. A fair proportion of the exhibitors were actually writers and poets.
I have included some works in progress shots and some research and development shots where I made little houses from all sorts of materials including e.g., salt, hair, wax, sugar etc. This was while I was creating "House Angel" which I made for an exhibition at the PM Gallery while I was still living in London.
"Night House" and "Rainbow House" were made more recently. Printmaking techniques used include inkjet, intaglio, etching, collagraph and chine-colle.
